What they do
BadCat is a pianist and DJ who grew up in the UK and is based on Ibiza. He does not give his real name on the site. He trained for 7 years at the Royal College of Music in London. He says he has played more than 2,000 weddings since 2006 and is the resident pianist at Elixir.
You can book him as a solo pianist, as a DJ, or as both in one package.
The piano
His signature is Ibiza dance anthems played on the piano in a slow, chill-out style. His repertoire also takes in love songs, film soundtracks, pop and light classical music, and he learns requests.
There are 3 slots: up to 60 minutes for the ceremony, including the entrance and exit, up to 90 minutes for the aperitif, and up to 2 hours of background music during dinner. Every piano booking includes his white grand piano shell. It is a light fibreglass case around a Roland keyboard, and one person can carry it onto a beach. A white speaker system is included free for outdoor and larger spaces.
The party
As a DJ he mixes house, UK garage, drum and bass and techno with disco, soul, Motown, funk and 80s and 90s classics. Couples share the music they love and hate beforehand. He lists DJ bookings at 7Pines, Aguas de Ibiza, Pura Vida, Cotton Beach Club, Experimental Beach, Hacienda Na Xamena and Paissa d'en Bernat. He brings his own Pioneer decks and mixer at no extra cost. Sound, lighting, a DJ booth and silent disco headsets can be hired.
For the late part of the night he books Ibiza sax players to play over his set.
Good to know
His DJ page explains that Ibiza venues have strict sound limits. Some require the DJ to use the house system, while others have none. See our rules and permits guide. Prices are not published; bookings go by email.
Questions
What does BadCat play at the ceremony?
Piano covers of Ibiza dance anthems in a slow, romantic style, alongside love songs, film music, pop and light classical pieces. He will learn new requests for your wedding. A ceremony booking covers up to 60 minutes as guests arrive, plus your entrance and exit music.
Does BadCat bring his own piano and sound?
Yes. Every solo piano booking includes his white grand piano shell, a light case around a Roland keyboard that one person can carry onto a beach or up steps. A white column speaker system is included free for outdoor or larger spaces.
Can BadCat DJ the party as well?
Yes. You can book him as a DJ only, or as a DJ and piano package. He brings his own Pioneer decks, mixer and effects unit at no extra cost, and mixes house and dance music with disco, soul, Motown and 80s and 90s anthems.
