Can Frare wedding venue: a 300-year-old finca on a private 12-hectare estate above the Bay of San Antonio, licensed for events of up to 75 guests. The six-bedroom villa sleeps 11 to 12, and the owners host about 10 weddings a year.
Why couples choose it
A Can Frare wedding is a house party on a private family estate. You rent the whole villa, a farmhouse of about 300 years on 12 hectares of farmland and woodland above the Bay of San Antonio, and hold the ceremony, dinner and dancing in its gardens for up to 75 guests.
The Prats family has lived here for more than two centuries, and the owners describe it as one of the oldest houses on the island. The grounds are built around old agricultural terraces, with stone paths, olive trees and a historic well. The owners say Can Frare is licensed for weddings, private events and retreats. They have hosted more than 20 weddings and limit it to about 10 a year.
The ceremony
There is no single ceremony spot. The owners' own wedding stories show two set-ups: guests seated in the courtyard facing the whitewashed front of the house, and rows of chairs in one of the gardens looking out over the countryside. Either way the capacity is the estate maximum of 75.
Weddings here are symbolic. The owners' FAQ says a civil wedding in Ibiza needs one partner to be a Spanish resident, so most couples sign the legal papers at home and hold a symbolic ceremony on the estate. The concierge can recommend celebrants.
Dinner and party
Dinner is outdoors. In the owners' wedding stories, drinks follow the ceremony by the pool, dinner is served at long tables in the central garden or a shaded part of the estate, and the dancing moves to the pool area as night falls.
The 14 x 6 m infinity pool looks over farmland to the bay. A Sonos system runs through the house and out to the poolside and terraces.
Food and drink
There is no in-house catering. The villa has two indoor kitchens, including the original farmhouse kitchen, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen by the pool. For the wedding, the concierge introduces caterers, bar services, waiting staff and table and chair hire. For the rest of the week it can arrange private chefs, from poolside barbecues to tasting menus.
Staying over
The farmhouse has about 400 m² inside and six double bedrooms, four with their own bathroom. The Tower is the main suite, on the top floor with an office and a terrace looking over the bay. The Studio is a second suite with its own living room, kitchenette and terrace. Conejera and The Bay have en-suite bathrooms; Las Tias and Sanctuary share one. Bedrooms have air conditioning, and housekeeping is included.
The villa sleeps 11, according to the homepage and the facilities list; some pages say 12. For a wedding the owners require at least 4 nights, so the couple and close family stay here and the other guests book rooms nearby. See our guest guide for options.
Music and rules
Loud music must stop by 23:45. The owners say they always follow Ibiza's sound laws on this, so plan the party to peak earlier. Read our guide to rules and permits for the wider picture.
The pool is not gated, so children need supervising. The estate is gated, with parking for 15 cars.
Price indication
You rent the villa and pay an event fee. The owners' 2026 rates run from €6,999 a week in April and late October to €15,999 a week from 15 July to 2 September; their high season is 10 June to 15 September. The event fee is €3,000 for up to 35 guests or €3,750 for 36 to 75. A 4-night stay costs 25% more per night. Catering, drinks, staff and hire come on top. See our budget guide.
Getting there
Can Frare is on Camí Sa Vorera, in the hills above San Antonio. The airport is about 20 to 25 minutes away (the owners give both figures), and Ibiza Town and Santa Gertrudis are each about 20 minutes. Cala Gració is a 5-minute drive and Cala Salada 10 minutes. The concierge can book taxis and chauffeurs. More in our transport guide and the west coast and Sant Antoni area page.
Who it suits
A Can Frare wedding suits couples with up to 75 guests who want a whole private estate for a long weekend or a week, with a small group staying in the house. It does not suit a late party: loud music ends at 23:45. You also need to bring in your own caterer and bar team.
