Chris and Valentina, who live on Ibiza, held their whole wedding at a modern white villa in Es Cubells with views to Es Vedrà. White flowers, greenery and pampas, gold tableware and a two-tier cake kept it classic with a boho edge.
The couple
Chris and Valentina live on Ibiza, so there was never a question of where to marry. What they wanted was a classic wedding with a sea view that still felt completely private. Planned by Bliss Ibiza Weddings, the answer was a modern white villa near the village of Es Cubells, in the island's south-west, where the cliffs look out across the water towards Es Vedrà.
The couple's taste leaned modern, with some character and flair, and they were happy to make the styling the centrepiece of the day. Everything, from getting ready to the last dance, happened at the villa.
The ceremony
The ceremony was set on a wooden deck above the sea, under a round arch of white flowers and greenery with soft pampas grass at its base, a nod to Ibiza's boho style. Rattan-backed chairs faced the arch so that guests looked past the couple to the sea. White and natural green were the only colours used, which kept the look calm against the view. As a villa ceremony, this was a symbolic ceremony.
Valentina wore a gown with fine straps and detailed lace. The photography was fine-art in style, with portraits taken on the clifftops with Es Vedrà behind the couple.
Dinner and party
Dinner was a long, formal affair in the villa grounds. White wicker chairs lined the tables, candles in glass hurricanes ran down the middle, gold cutlery caught the light, and strings of market lights hung overhead once darkness fell. The couple sat at their own head table.
The cake was simple by design: two tiers, white, with a light pattern and white roses to match the flowers. It was served alongside heartfelt speeches, and the dancing followed under the lights.

Good to know
A villa in the south-west gives you sea views and sunsets without sharing the space, but everything has to be brought in: chairs, tables, lighting, a bar. Decide early whether you want one style throughout, as here, because it makes ordering flowers and hire items much simpler. Es Cubells is in the south, around Sant Josep, close to many of the island's sea-view villas.
